Created in 2026, Nuclear Free New Mexico began as an online archive of lesser-known nuclear histories in New Mexico, information on current and perspective uranium mining projects, formerly operating mines and mills, WIPP, as well as news and information on the grassroots movement to clean up the Cold War mess left behind and stop further nuclear proliferation.
Just uranium mining enables nuclear weapon proliferation and threatens not just local communities but the entire planet, the Nuclear Free movement acts locally and intersects with with others who rise against injustices with optimism and envision building a sustainable and equitable future for all, globally.
